Superstar writer Al Ewing and series penciler Joe Bennett reach their penultimate issue with The Immortal Hulk #49. Jackie McGee, the journalist who has been following the Devil Hulk since the beginning narrates this march and shows just how different Marvel’s second hero is from its first family, the Fantastic Four. Ewing pulls from his own Rocket series in the use of noir-ish gutter captions to frame the story, in just another example of how that book has an outsized influence.
