BatChat With Matt & Will Episode 27: A Weird Puppet Noir

Paul Dini Banner

Starting out as one of the main writers on Batman: The Animated Series, the platonic ideal of Batman, Paul Dini has gone on to write Batman in nearly every medium: TV, movies, video games, and, of course, comics. And since we’re a podcast that focuses on Batman comics, well, we’re going to look at some Dini comics, and we have three very different ones here: an animated series universe story, one set in the main DCU, and a bit of autobiography.

  • Going Straight/Laughter After Midnight (Batman Adventures V.1 Annual #1)
  • Trust (Detective Comics V.1 # 833-834)
  • Dark Night: A True Batman Story OGN

Be sure to check out this week’s BatChat column, where we look at Batman: The Knight #3, Detective Comics #1,057, and Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #1.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
