BatChat With Matt & Will Episode 49: Remembering Grant & Breyfogle

Grant & Breyfogle Banner

Time takes us all. And as the comics we grew up with grow older, so too do the people who made them, and with time, comes other things, sadly. Recently, Alan Grant, legendary co-creator of many of the great Bat villains of the 80s and 90s, passed away, having been preceded a couple of years ago by his regular collaborator, artist Norm Breyfogle. So this week, we celebrate this legendary team with three stories by them, one from each of the Bat titles they worked on together.

  • Anarky in Gotham City (Detective Comics V.1 #608-609)
  • Sisters in Arms (Batman V.1 #460-461)
  • The Last Arkham (Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1-4)

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
