BatChat With Matt & Will: The Darkest Episode of ’66 Ever

Rooftops Banner

It’s taken three episodes, but we’ve finally covered every story in the original Batman #1. That means this week, we’re covering the first appearance of Catwoman, and so we’re also covering a couple other Catwoman stories, one a story that’s place in continuity is weird even by DC Comics standards, and one that started off so promisingly, before it became a big sprawling mess later in its run.

  • The Cat (Batman V.1 #1)
  • Catch as Catscan (Detective Comics V.1 #569-570)
  • Rooftops (Batman V.3 #14-15)

Be sure to check out this week’s BatChat column where we look at Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #10, Batman Incorporated #10 and Knight Terrors: The Joker #1.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
