BatChat With Matt & Will: All Rhyming! (Not Really)

Demon Etrigan Banner

It’s spooky season, and so this week we’re covering three stories where Batman teams up with his most diabolical frenemy, the Demon Etrigan. There’s lots of rhyming, most of it not very good. Be grateful I didn’t try to do it in this introduction; I am many things, but a poet is not one of them. These three stories include some charming Bob Haney nonsense, Joker deciding that sorcery and alchemy are the best hobbies and Etrigan in the world of tomorrow!

  • Hour of the Serpent (The Brave and the Bold V.1 # 137)
  • Major Arcana (Batman V.1 # 544-546)
  • And Flights of Demons Sing Thee to They Rest (Batman Beyond V.2 # 14)

Be sure to check out this week’s BatChat column where we look at Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #20, Catwoman #58 and Nightwing #107.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
