BatChat With Matt & Will Episode 33: The Feline Fatale

Catwoman Banner

Batman’s most significant female nemesis. His true love on many Earths. The best thief in Gotham. A star of screens, both small and big, with numerous famous actors having portrayed her. An icon. All of these describe one character: Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman. This week, we’re looking at three stories starring Catwoman.

  • Your Face is Your Fortune (Batman V.1 # 15)
  • Her Sister’s Keeper (Catwoman V.1 # 1-4)
  • Anodyne (Catwoman V.3 # 1-4)

Note: There’s a long tangent in the middle of the episode about the Hollywood blacklist and a notable director who named names before the House Unamerican Activities Committee, and during this entire five minutes, neither Matt or Will actually say his name. That is Elia Kazan. Sorry for the lack of context in the episode.

Also, be sure to head over to the main site later today, where the staff jammed on a piece talking about some of their favorite multiversal worlds as the prep for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Unsurprisingly, Matt writes about the world of the Vampire Batman trilogy, which fans of the pod might be hearing more about on the show in the very near future..

Be sure to check out this week’s BatChat column, where we look at The Joker #14, Detective Comics #1,059, and Batman: Beyond the White Knight #2.

Matt Lazorwitz read his first comic at the age of five. It was Who's Who in the DC Universe #2, featuring characters whose names begin with B, which explains so much about his Batman obsession. He writes about comics he loves, and co-hosts the creator interview podcast WMQ&A with Dan Grote.

Will Nevin loves bourbon and AP style and gets paid to teach one of those things. He is on Twitter far too often.
